Getting started
Tell it what to watch for
A useful instruction describes something your camera can actually see.
Describe the action and place
“Someone falls in the hallway and stays on the floor” is more useful than “watch for trouble.” Name the visible action and, when needed, a landmark in the view.
Try “A trolley is blocking the exit” or “Someone kicks or scratches a parked car.” Start with one clear situation per Event.
Create your Event
- Open Events and choose Add Event.
- Write what the camera should notice.
- Choose the cameras that have a clear view of it.
- Choose Always or set a schedule, then save.
Try it in your own space
Test with a harmless action, such as leaving a box at the entrance. Read the resulting Message and adjust the wording if it describes something different from what you intended.
Lighting, distance and an obstructed view affect what can be seen. Describing a visible action works better than asking the camera to know someone’s intentions or permission.
