Everyday use
Connect a camera manually
When Camera detection does not find your camera, enter its address yourself.
Find the camera’s video address
Look in your camera’s app, settings or manufacturer’s help for local streaming or an RTSP address. Some cameras need you to enable local streaming and create a camera username and password first.
A typical address looks like rtsp://192.168.1.50:554/stream. This is only an example: the numbers and ending must match your camera. A camera’s ordinary web page address is not the same as its video address.
Enter it in Agentinosaurus
- Open Add camera and select the Station connected to the camera’s network.
- Expand Enter camera address manually or add credentials.
- Paste the RTSP address from the camera manufacturer.
- Enter Camera username and Camera password in their separate fields.
- Name the camera, attach an Event and save. Open the camera to check its view.
If it still cannot connect
Make sure the camera and Station are on the same Wi-Fi or router. Avoid a guest network that blocks devices from talking to each other. A VPN on the Station computer may also prevent the local connection.
Check the address, streaming setting and camera credentials. Some cameras only work through their manufacturer’s cloud and do not offer a compatible local video stream. You do not need to open your camera to the internet or set up router port forwarding.
